Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s decision to run for president in 2023 has elicited a variety of opinions.
Demonstrators invaded the former president’s private office in Abuja on Friday, according to Anaedoonline.ng, demanding that he declare for the presidency in 2023.
Supporters, including women and teenagers, swarmed his office with placards reading “Goodluck Jonathan, you must run,” “We need you to restore Nigeria,” and other slogans.
Jonathan told well-wishers and supporters to just wait and see what happens in the run-up to the presidential election in 2023.
However, the former president claimed that he is unable to say whether or not he will run for president in 2023.
Following the development, some Nigerians took to Twitter to list the achievements recorded during the Jonathan administration, saying the clamour for his return is justifiable.
While others slammed the demonstrators who are clamouring for the former president to contest and come back to Aso Rock.
See some of the reactions below:
Goodluck Jonathan should ignore the pressure mounted by some groups for him to get the APC Presidential ticket and move on with the life he's living or else the little respect Nigerians have for him will 'vapourise' as he declares.

Goodluck Jonathan Knows better than to associate himself with anything that connects him with contesting again. He should live in peace instead.

Goodluck Jonathan modernized and equipped 14 teaching hospitals to international standards in the North West which is impressive, now I see why some northerners are clamoring for him.

They are looking for Jonathan to come and rule again. May we not be looking for Buhari in the next 7 years to come and rule again. The same way some charlatans brought back 1983 in 2015. How can a country move forward when we keep looking back to bring expired people?

These people should leave Jonathan alone now. When that man wanted to be president y’all chose “CHANGE”.
I hope they don’t let the poor man disgrace himself at the polls. He won’t win.

Never forget that under Goodluck Jonathan's administration, the prices of food and other household items remained stable and inflationary pressure was down to a single digit.
