2023: Buhari Move To Fill Vacant Ministerial Positions

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he intends to quickly fill empty cabinet seats in the Federal Executive Council.

The decision comes after at least ten cabinet members resigned to pursue their political goals ahead of the 2023 national elections.

On Friday, Buhari held a farewell ceremony for former ministers in the Council Chambers of State House, thanking them for their services to the administration and wishing them well in their future endeavors.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, told State House Correspondents that nine of the ministers were physically present and one offered an explanation for his absence.

Ministers of State for Petroleum Resources, Labour and Employment, Science and Technology, Women Affairs, Minister of State Mines and Steel Development, Niger Delta Affairs, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation were among those present at the valedictory session.

The Information Minister clarified former President Goodluck Jonathan’s membership status in the All Progressive Congress, saying the party’s chairman is in a better position to address that question.
