In response to the viral video, Lagos State Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin warned that, regardless of the officer’s unprofessional behavior, kidnapping an officer on duty is a criminal.

According to Hundeyin, an inquiry into the event has commenced, and the driver has been identified as a suspect.

Hundeyin in a post on Twitter wrote, “Irrespective, I repeat, irrespective of whatever the police officer must have done (un)professionally, kidnapping anyone, especially a law enforcement officer on duty, is a felony.
