South-East Presidential Aspirants Pledge To Support Any Igbo Aspirant Who Clinch APC Ticket

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary on May 30, presidential contenders from the South-East have pledged to support any of the South-East aspirants picked by the party as its candidate.

The commitment was made at a review meeting hosted by Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The aspirants expressed their commitment to work together in a communique issued on Sunday and jointly signed by the former Minister of Information, Chief Ikeobasi Molukwu, former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, former President of the Senate, Sen. Ken. Nnamani, Mrs. Uju Ohanenye, Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and former Governor of Imo state, Sen. Rochas Okorocha.

It read: “That we commend all Nigerians who are committed to the Nigerian project by the whole hearted support of the aspiration of the south east to produce the next Nigerian president in 2023.

“That in furtherance of these commitments all aspirants here commits to align with any of the south east aspirants that is accepted by and chosen by other Nigerians to fly the APC flag.”

The aspirants commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC, as well the teaming members of the party on their avowed commitment to the unity of Nigeria and the inclusion of all parts of Nigeria in the governance architecture of the country.
