Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has got a warm welcome from his fans who gathered at the airport to greet him following his participation in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries.
The fans are seen dancing and singing to a Yoruba song that loosely translates to “it is still possible because I believe,” according to a video circulating on social media.
Pastor Bakare, who ran for the APC presidential ticket in 2023 and was asked to speak at the party’s national convention on Tuesday night about his presidential aspirations, told Anaedoonline.ng that he is not standing down.

He remarked that he is just assuming the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the 16th time.
Bakare went on to say that he is the ideal candidate to lead Nigeria forward, claiming that the majority of presidential candidates are unworthy of the position.
Pastor Bakare, on the other hand, received no votes from the delegates when the final results were published.
Some social media users mocked the pastor, who responded on Wednesday with a social media post claiming he was glad because he was different and that others who wanted to make a difference had to be different as well.
Despite losing the primary election, he claimed that he had passed the integrity test.

He wrote, “I am happy I passed the test of character by not paying any delegate.
“I passed the test of courage by speaking the truth in the midst of wolves and the test of conviction by standing true to my beliefs. Those who will make a difference must be different.”
Anaedoonline.ng understands the clergyman has now returned to base from Abuja and was welcomed with pomp and pageantry by supporters at the airport.
