According to reports, the Labour Party is planning to unite with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in order to beat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election.

Comrade Abayomi Oluwafemi Arabambi, the Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Arabambi said that the party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are in negotiations with the NNPP and its presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, about forming an alliance.

Recall that the National Consultative Forum’s spokesman, Yinusa Tanko, said the LP and NNPP were planning to merge in 2023 to defeat the APC and PDP.

According to Yinusa Tanko, combining the two parties is a concept they’ve seen on the ground, and they feel Obi, who is already well-established in the south, needs to collaborate with Kwankwaso, a powerful figure in the north.

The two former governors, according to Tanko, have shown character, resilience, and determination while working closely with the poor.
