CJN, Tanko Nominates 29 Justices For Supreme Court Vacancies [Full List]

29 justices of the Court of Appeal have been assembled by Justice Tanko Muhammad, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) and Chairman of the Federal Judicial Service Commission, to cover six current or anticipated vacancies on the Supreme Court’s maximum 21-member bench.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the 23 attorneys who filed for the opening in the Supreme Court were rejected.

The North Central, North West, South-South, and South-West each have five justices on the shortlist of 29 judges, while the Southeast has nine.

The candidates and their zones are “A. North Central: 1. Justice Jummai Sankey, JCA, 2. Justice Stephen Jonah Adah, JCA, 3. Justice Sa’idu Tanko Hussain, JCA, 4. Justice Ridwan M. Abdullahi, JCA and 5. Justice Mohammed Baba Idris, JCA.

It was gathered that while the South East will get two out of the six slots and the North East excluded, the other zones will get one place each on the apex court bench.
