On Monday, it was claimed that unidentified gunmen attacked the Nduegu Achi village in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and murdered one person there.
It was learned that the assailants also kidnapped several people and burned down a number of residences.
According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the locals left the area because of concern that the gunmen would kill them.

An eyewitness who talked to media in Abakaliki claimed that the gunmen entered the neighborhood and began firing erratically, killing one person and kidnapping many others in the process.
When approached for confirmation, SP Chris Anyanwu, PPRO, Ebonyi State Command, stated that the command had not yet received a briefing on the event.
He promised to get details of the attack and brief newsmen on Tuesday.
