No fewer than 10 people were hurt when alleged thugs broke into the location of a PDP youth rally in Ologba, Kogi State’s Dekina Local Government Area.
Tuesday in Lokoja, a witness claimed that the invading thugs openly utilized pistols, knives, horns, and other hazardous weapons throughout the attack.
According to reports, the thugs also torched a number of PDP members’ cars and motorcycles, as well as the home of the opposition party’s youth leader in Iyale.
“There is serious tension in Dekina LGA. The thugs came to the PDP youth meeting venue yesterday at Ologba, destroyed properties, burnt vehicles and motorcycles,” one of the sources said.
Meanwhile, Kogi PDP has condemned the attack on her members.
The party said that 2023 would not be business as “we will not tolerate any form of attack on our members.”

The party in a statement signed by Dayo Onibiyo, Director of Communication, warned against an attack on its members and says it will allow the police to conclude their investigation before taking action.
The PDP, however, appealed to its members to remain calm in spite of the provocation, warning that the party will no longer fold its arms and see its members attacked or killed.
