What Will Happen If I Cancel Senegal Trip After Kuje Prison Attack – Buhari

After the Kuje jailbreak, President Muhammadu Buhari gave an explanation for why he did not postpone his trip to Senegal.

The International Development Association (IDA) for Africa Summit will be held in Dakar, Senegal, and the President is expected to attend.

A financial organization called the IDA is a part of the World Bank Group and provides grants and loans with favorable terms to developing nations.

After the attack on Kuje jail, Buhari departs for Senegal

Buhari claimed that the terrorists’ success will be demonstrated by his absence from the meeting in a statement released by his spokesman Garba Shehu.

The remarks were made by the Nigerian president following his assessment of the damage at the Kuje jail.

The government informed the public that it was aware of the mounting criticism of the trip to Dakar.

“Governments don’t stop working because nations face terrorist threats”, the presidency argued.

“To cancel the trip to Senegal would mean that the terrorists are successful in calling the shots, something that no responsible government in the world will allow.”

In Kuje, the President was also informed that security forces have recaptured 350 of the escapees while about 450 others are still unaccounted for.

“I am disappointed with the intelligence system. How can terrorists organize, have weapons, attack a security installation and get away with it?”, Buhari quipped.
