Imama Amapakabo has left Nigeria Professional Football League club Abia Warriors after his contract expired, according to ANAEDOONLINE.NG Sports Extra.

Amapakabo joined the club two years ago and his contract with the club expired on July 31.

He left the club on Sunday after they were eliminated from the 2022 Aiteo Cup after a 2-1 loss to Nigeria National League side Ottasolo FC.

A statement on the club’s website read, “The management of Abia Warriors Football Club has announced that it has parted ways with coach Imama Amapakabo after the expiration of his two-year contract. The club also thanks him for the services rendered and wishes him well in his future assignment.”
The 53-year-old manager struggled to make a positive impact at Umuahia, with the Warriors surviving relegation on the final day of the season with a 3-0 win over Lobi Stars.
