Reactions have followed Reuben Abati’s remark against Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike over the crisis roiling the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike reportedly criticized the former presidential assistant over a recent interview given by the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in a chat with media last Friday, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Wike responded to some of Atiku’s comments by claiming that the former vice president lied during the interview and said that Abati didn’t practice investigative journalism.

The governor of Rivers claimed that the seasoned reporter had failed to grill Atiku with insightful questions.

On Monday, in response to Wike’s comments on Arise TV’s The Morning Show, Abati accused the PDP of instilling a sense of entitlement in Wike because he was the one who kept the party united after it lost the 2015 presidential election.

The former spokesperson for the president advised the party to learn what Wike wants and deliver it to him, saying the governor is not in a position to impart journalism knowledge on the young man.

Abati, however, advised Wike to let Nigerians concentrate on important matters since he does not have the right to act inappropriately in public.

Following the occurrence, a few Nigerians turned to the microblogging service Twitter to respond to the journalist’s remarks.

“Where was Atiku & Co when d PDP that is supreme was sinking? They were the iceberg after all.”
