Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has explained why he is inviting representatives from the opposition parties to appoint project commissions in the state.
This comes after Governor Wike welcomed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, to officially launch projects in the state on Monday.
Aliyu Wamakko, the former governor of Sokoto State, was welcomed to the state on Tuesday by the governor elected on the PDP platform.
Wike defended the invitation to opposition party members by stating that he wanted them to come see what he had accomplished and convey the word back home.
This was said by the governor of Rivers State on Tuesday during the opening of the dualized Ogbunuabali Eastern Bypass in Port Harcourt.
He said, “Nobody can stop me from bringing people from other walks of life to see what we have been able to do, and what we are doing in Rivers state.
“Yesterday, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was here. Today the former Governor of Sokoto was here, on Thursday the Speaker of the House of Representatives will be here to commission the assembly residence.
“Go and see the wonders that God helped us to do.
“Whether you are in Labour Party, APC or PDP, it is to invite you to come and see, and then go back home and compare.”
