The United Nations (UN) has been forewarned by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) not to interfere with Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, during his trial.

The Nigerian and Kenyan governments were recently indicted by the UN for Kanu’s extraordinary rendition, torture, and ongoing incarceration without due process.

As a result, the UN concurred and advised the Federal Government to free Kanu without conditions right away.

However, CNG underlined its stance against excessive meddling by the international community, particularly the United Nations, in the internal security matters of the country in a communique released on Monday at the conclusion of its annual retreat.
