Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has received a response from Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, on his remarks regarding the IPOB’s banishment by the federal government.

According to an earlier article from Anaedoonline.ng, Soyinka questioned why the government had decided to outlaw IPOB but not the Fulani pastoralist group Miyetti Allah.

Soyinka contends that the government must pay heed to the inciting remarks made by some Miyetti Allah group leaders and their threats against other country residents.

Soyinka stated in an interview with Channels Television on Monday that if IPOB could be banned for pursuing a secession plan, then Miyetti Allah should also be prohibited for its participation and frank statements in the country’s regular farmer-herder conflicts.

In response, Ejimakor stressed that the group and Miyetti Allah cannot be compared in a tweet posted on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

The attorney claimed that unlike Miyetti Allah, IPOB is recognized by nations, has global registration, and is nonviolent.

He wrote: “Why proscribe IPOB and not Miyetti Allah?’ – Prof Soyinka.

“Thanks, Prof, but the two can’t compare because IPOB is registered worldwide, respected by nations and nonviolent. Miyetti Allah is not.”
