PDP NWC Calls For Iyorchia Ayu’s Probe Over Party’s Finances

A few PDP National Working Committee (NWC) members are advocating for an investigation into the party’s finances.

According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, certain PDP NWC members are upset that Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, has not provided an account of some assets that have accrued to the organization.

According to a source who spoke to Newsmen, the PDP leaders have asked for an audit of the approximately N1 billion that the party received from supporters of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

According to the source, the PDP NWC members want Ayu to give an accounting of the money the party received via the selling of forms and donations.

“Some of the NWC members want an audit for about N1 billion that the party got from friends of Atiku, in addition to donates from governors and sale of nomination forms,” the source said.

According to reports, the PDP National Chairman has been urged to step down by the supporters of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Wike camp made the request at the meeting between the PDP presidential candidate and the governor of Rivers.

According to the governor’s aides, the only way to mend the division between Atiku and Wike and advance the party is through the resignation of the PDP chairman.

They characterized Ayu as a polarizing personality and said that in order for the opposition party to be united, he would have to resign.
