Aisha Yesufu, the co-chair of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, has debunked a social media rumor that she is considering joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Anaedoonline.ng, a Twitter user named @Mkibrahim0247 stated in a tweet on Friday morning that Yesufu wanted to join the APC and advised Nigerians to wait and see if the ruling party would welcome her.

He wrote: “Rumour has it that @Aishayesufu wants to join @OfficialAPCNg, will they accept her, well, we’ll wait and see.”

In a swift response to the tweet, the political activist sarcastically said she has already joined the party as the campaign manager.

She wrote: “I thought she has already joined and the campaign manager?😏”

According to this news source, Yesufu is a well-known opponent of the current APC and the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

The characteristics of the presidential candidate the North will support in the general election of 2023 have been enumerated by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).

NEF Chairman Professor Ango Abdullahi said the North will support a presidential candidate who will govern with honesty, competence, compassion, and the fear of God on Thursday at a book launch in Kaduna.

He claimed that the area would back a candidate who did not try to gain an advantage from the region’s ethnic and religious diversity.

The Northern region, according to the elder statesman, will take part in all political and electoral processes on a same footing with other Nigerians who respect them.
