FG Vows To Eliminate Terrorists By December, Shehu Sani Reacts

Shehu Sani, a former National Assembly member for Kaduna Central, has criticized the federal government for aiming to eradicate all terrorists by December of this year.

Earlier, Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, was quoted by Anaedoonline.ng as saying that the Muhammadu Buhari administration would put an end to terrorism by December.

During a joint security press conference on Monday in Abuja with the Ministers of Defence, Information, and Police Affairs as well as the Chief of Defence Staff, he announced this.

Aregbesola claimed that despite the pledge seemed unrealistic and unattainable, they will nonetheless fulfill it due to their strong resolve.

He had said: “Nigerians have the assurance of all of us that their security is guaranteed. So, we’re here to assure you that you’re safe, that is why we’re here from the instructions of the president that you’re safe and that each day going to December, our safety and security will be better.

“What we face mostly now are clashes of cowardly attacks from those that have been routed in one locality or the other moving to give a false impression that they’re still strong. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate them altogether and restore total peace in every inch of the Nigerian soil; that we’re going to do by God’s grace, by December of this year.”

Tuesday, Sani claimed on his Twitter account that the federal government has established numerous deadlines for the elimination of terrorists in our nation.

However, he voiced optimism that by December of this year, all terrorists in the nation would have been destroyed.

The former lawmaker wrote: “Many datelines have been fixed for the extermination of terrorists in our country. The new one is in December. It’s just three months. We hope this time it will be met.”
