Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has warned supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to brace themselves for defeat in the 2019 election.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Obi supporters who have committed devotion to his campaign are known as the Obidient movement.

In their contacts with opponents’ followers, the movement has frequently been attacked and labeled as disorderly.

In his recent essay on Obi’s electoral chances, Fani-Kayode emphasized that anger alone cannot fuel a movement because there must be a goal.

He stated that, while he considers Obidients to be a formidable movement, “they are more like a loose cannon than a guided missile.”

The former minister, however, expressed admiration about youths “venturing into the dark and murky waters of Nigerian politics”.

“I pray that they survive it and last, even if they don’t make an appreciable impact at the polls next year,” he said.

He warned them against expecting that their candidate would win the election and worried that they might suffer from mental trauma after Obi gets defeated.

THE ILLUSION OF A SOUTHERN PRESIDENCY By Fani Kayode

He said, “I doubt that they will win one Senatorial district or one seat in the House of Representatives let alone a Governorship election or the Presidential election.

“It is at that time that we shall find out whether they are men and women or mere children venting on social media and expressing frustrations at public events.”
