2023: See What Keyamo Said About APC Presidential Campaign Council

Festus Keyamo, the minister of state for labor and employment, has stated that there is no pressure on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to form its Presidential Campaign Council.

Keyamo claimed in an interview with Newsmen that the party is taking its time to appoint council members while being diligent in involving all stakeholders.

Keyamo asserted that the Peoples Democratic Party’s agenda is not a factor in the ruling party’s actions and activities, which are solely guided by that agenda (PDP).

The APC Presidential Campaign Council’s spokesman claimed that the party has ample time to assemble the team before the campaigns officially kick off on September 28.

He said: “We are not under any pressure. Our actions and activities are not dictated or prompted by the actions and activities of the PDP that is collapsing day and night.

“Our actions are dictated purely by our schedule of activities and ability to carry all stakeholders along. We will let everybody know about our campaign council in due time. We still have enough time to do that before the campaigns start.”

APC National Working Committee (NWC) member who wished to remain anonymous told Newsmen that the party is not in a haste to reveal the names of the council members.

There is no need for concern, he claimed, and the party leadership would take its time rather than rushing everything and making existential mistakes.

“It is better to be late than to rush the entire process and make existential errors. In any case, we are not behind any timetable. Even after the lifting of the ban on campaigns, we can still unveil the full complement of our campaign council.

“There is no law that says we must unveil everything before the lifting of the ban. Besides, we already have a council in place. What remains is just to populate the directorates with relevant hands,” he said.
