The passing of Vincent Ogbulafor, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been grieved by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

Ogbulafor would have utilized his expertise to overcome the conflict affecting the erstwhile ruling party, according to Ohanaeze, who claimed that PDP will miss him.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, claimed that if the deceased had been the Iyorchia Ayu, National Chairman of the PDP, he would have tendered his resignation.

Isiguzoro stated in a statement that Ogbulafor would be remembered for always putting other people before himself.

Isiguzoro said: “Prince of the East as fondly called by friends and family members will be missed as his wealth of experience would have been of a remedy to unravel the crisis currently facing the PDP, but if Ogbulafor was in the position of Iyorchia Ayu is facing currently as Nat Chair he will repeat history by doing the needful, he will resign honourably and restore sanity to the party by sacrificing his benefits and privileges for the unity of the PDP, as a royal Prince his words were his bounds, he keeps his promises while he lived.

“He resigned from his position as National Chairman of PDP in 2010 when Jonathan became the President, and to balance the political equation since former President Jonathan is from the South with him, and to allow a northerner to replace him, he voluntarily relinquishes his position as PDP National Chair for the north, he was a good leader with a human face”.

The PDP is now experiencing a leadership crisis as a result of Atiku Abubakar’s nomination as the party’s presidential candidate.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and a few PDP leaders have been requesting Ayu’s resignation as a result.

The PDP National Chairman and the presidential candidate shouldn’t be from the same region, according to Wike and his supporters.
