On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari gave National Honors Awards to a few royal fathers who had excelled in their roles for the good of the nation.
The National Honors Award Investiture event was held on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja, according to Anaedoonline.ng.
The National Honors Act No. 5 of 1964 gives the President the authority to recognize Nigerians and foreigners who have helped the country.

Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) awards were given to six eminent Nigerians, Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) awards were given to 55, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) awards were given to 65, and Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic awards were given to 70.
Four people were awarded the Federal Republic Medal 1, 110 were given the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), 74 were given the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), and 55 were given the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) (FRM1).
