Obidients Blasts Obaseki Over Comment On Running Out Of Steam

Obidients, a group of Peter Obi’s Labour Party (LP) supporters, have criticized Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, for making a remark about them.

The Obidients contend that Obaseki was incorrect when he claimed that their organization will lose momentum in its efforts to elect Obi as president in 2023.

Anaedoonline.ng is aware that Obaseki’s remark about them losing steam led Obidients to use the microblogging service Twitter.

2023: Obidients Will Soon Run Out Of Steam, Peter Obi Cannot Win – Obaseki

Obaseki, who passed the comment at the inauguration of the Edo state Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) campaign council in the state yesterday said “people who say they are Obidients, of course, they will be but they will run out of steam. We know how to manage elections, how many people have been able to do what we are doing? They can’t even form their campaign council not to talk about having a timetable for election, you get it.”

However, the Obidients didn’t take the comment lightly as Twitter was buzzing with reaction from the Obi supporters who are alleged to be just an online movement.

One of the Obidients with @TheCuriousMind1 said “out of steam with just three months to the election? As long as there’s hunger, poverty and insecurity, my brother Obaseki, steam will be increasing even more. So think well.”

Another user @Princes51013171 remarked that “it’s like this man has been lashed for having stylishly supported Obidient in the past? But regardless, our labour will never be in vain. It’s you, the entire PDP and APC that your efforts will be in vain. Obi shall triumph and be declared a winner come 2023 God willing!”

Another supporter @EmekaKa36263450, said “they thought we are tired. If only they know how prepared we are. People are busy doing underground work for PO. From December, you are going to see men spring out from all angles to the needful. PO is coming…”

Another Obidient @Albazzini, added that “Gov Obaseki knows that his household would vote for Peter Obi. His cabinet and Edolites are Obidient. He should stop deceiving Atiku. 2023 is around the corner and no amount of running down would stop the movement. Nigerians would #VoteWisely.”

Obaseki stated at the inauguration that the PDP must win the 2023 elections in order to free Nigerians from the All Progressives Congress, which is now in power (APC.).

He asserts that no other administration has ever done as much harm to Nigerians as the APC, whose debt profile has reached N60 trillion.

He added that Nigeria would totally collapse if Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential contender for the general election of 2023, were to win.

WHO ARE THESE OBIDIENTS? by Femi Fani-Kayode

The governor said, “God forbid APC comes into power, this country will break; this country will fail, it has already failed, because no government has ever done the kind of damage the APC has done to this country.

“As I speak today, the debt of this country is going to N60trn. When are we going to come out of it? Every day, every month, they are printing and printing money to pay salaries.

“When I cried out years ago, I never knew it was as bad as this. What will happen to the Naira? Only God will help us. The party (APC) has destroyed the basis of this country. Electing Tinubu will lead to a total collapse of the country,” Obaseki submitted.
