Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), the National Security Adviser (NSA), has cautioned state governors who use thugs to block the opposition from mounting campaign materials in their domains that security agencies will soon descend on them.
When law enforcement agencies take action, such culprits will have no place to hide, according to Monguno.
He issued the warning on Thursday when anchoring the state house ministerial briefing.
Monguno’s reply came in the wake of reports of state governors enacting regulations prohibiting the presence of opposition campaign materials in their states, which he blamed on an inferiority complex.
He emphasized that President Muhammadu Buhari had made it plain that the upcoming elections in 2023 must be free, fair, and credible.
