Four people were reportedly killed in a horrific accident involving a Toyota Hilux transporting a detachment of vigilantes accompanying Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, on his way to Mubi for a campaign engagement.
The accident, which occurred near Fadamareke in Hong Local Government, was allegedly caused by overspeeding while negotiating a risky turn and featured a RAMP 2 Toyota Hilux van driven by the vigilante of Head of Fintiri.
Three dead bodies from the van, including Bako Kaura, the head of the PDP’s informal security arm, and another victim identified as Adamu, Kaura’s biological son, have been deposited in Hong Federal Medical Centre’s mortuary.

Five other occupants of the van, who had varying degrees of injury, were transported to a health center in the government house ambulance and another unmarked Hilux van. Dr. William Teri, Governor Fintiri’s personal physician and head of the government house clinic, who was among the first responders at the collision, also transported the victims to a hospital for treatment.
A source at the scene of the accident who helped with the evacuation and rescue effort, however, said “I took out three lifeless bodies, but there’s a fourth that I think can hardly make it out of coma because of the injury he sustained. The unfortunate tragedy involving his convoy shocked Governor Fintiri, who also assisted in coordinating rescue efforts.
Governor Fintiri narrowly averted death by whispering only a week ago when a truck lost control and nearly rammed into his stationary motorcade. Unfortunately, two vehicles in his convoy were not so fortunate, as the truck collided with them.

The event happened near the prestigious Dougirei Hilltop Agga Mosque, where the governor had gone to attend a wedding engagement.
Two police officers were killed in the crash and were transferred to the state specialist hospital’s intensive care unit.
