Okupe Sentenced To Two And Half Years For Money Laundering

Doyin Okupe, the director general of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign, was given a two and a half year sentence for breaking the Money Laundering Act.

Okupe was found guilty of the crime on Monday by a Federal High Court in Abuja, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Okupe was found guilty on Monday by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, who was presiding over the case, of violating sections 16(1) and (2) of the Money Laundering Act and taking cash in excess of the amount permitted by the Act without going through a financial institution.
