Peter Obi: Over 2,000 Dump PDP, APC, Others For Labour Party In Borno

In Central Borno, almost 2,000 party members have defected to Peter Obi’s Labour Party from other parties.

Defectors from several political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party, APC, Zenith Labour Party, and others, converged in Biu Local Government Area to reject their parties and welcome the Obidient movement.

The majority of the defectors are from cities and local governments in Southern Borno, including Askira-Uba, Gwoza, Chibok, Damboa, Hawul, Kwaya, and Shani.

They proclaimed for the Labour Party and expressed interest in joining the party executive committee at a town hall meeting dubbed the Biu Summit, which was arranged by Isaac Balami, a Labour Party chieftain and National Deputy Campaign Manager, Obi/Datti Campaign Council.

Balami, who was welcomed by hundreds of party followers in his Biu village, accepted the defectors and party loyal into the Labour Party, charging them to go all out to achieve Peter Ob’s victory.

Some of the defectors told reporters that they are tired of the PDP and APC regimes and are eager to test another party that will affect their lives and the lives of their children.

They also completely rejected the APC and PDP methods of purchasing votes with Maggi cubes and salt.

PDP In Trouble As 2,000 Members Defect To APC In Abia

The leading contestants in the elections are Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu of the current APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

Although Atiku has maintained that he will win a majority of votes in the north, pundits predict that the three leading contenders will fight tooth and nail in the region.
