The bodies of eight Madonna University students from Elele, Rivers State, who perished in a car accident while traveling from Port Harcourt to Taraba State have been buried.
The incident occurred on February 18 at the TTC/Special Science School intersection in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, while the children were returning home from school in anticipation of the next general election.

According to reports, seven other pupils were sent to the Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital in Ebonyi State with various degrees of injury after surviving the event.
The mass burial was held on Tuesday morning, February 21, at the Magami Christian Cemetery in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
