The Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has broken his quiet, a day after the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, named Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the president-elect.
Obi stated that the election result was programmed and announced in blatant violation of electoral norms and standards, as promised.
He also stated that it would be remembered as one of the most contentious elections in Nigerian history.

Obi addressed Nigerians and the foreign community in a world press conference on Thursday afternoon, his first public appearance since the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.
The former Anambra State governor claimed that Nigerians had been duped by supposed leaders in whom they had placed their trust.
On Wednesday, the INEC proclaimed Tinubu the winner of the presidential election.
Tinubu has also received his certificate of return from the election commission.
