The State Department announced Friday that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Ethiopia next week to discuss peace efforts to resolve the terrible civil conflict that has strained ties between the once-close allies.
Blinken will also be the first top American ambassador to visit Niger for talks on Sahel security cooperation, an area where Russia has made inroads through its Wagner mercenary force.
