Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, a popular disc jockey, has expressed her outrage over the persecution of Igbo people in Lagos State.

In Lagos State, the Igbo were openly rejected and were publicly barred from voting in the presence of security agencies.

The singer and musician questioned why, out of all the tribes in Lagos State, the Igbo were chosen and subjected to rejection, abuse, and threats.

The gubernatorial election in Lagos State in 2023 was plagued by a high level of violence and intimidation.

Some of the attacks on voters and electoral materials occurred in full view of security officials.

Thugs were deployed before and during the elections to threaten, instill fear, and coerce locals to vote for a specific political party or not vote at all.

On social media, video clips of police personnel being compromised are circulating. The threat given to non-indigenes of Lagos by the State’s Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, commonly known as MC Oluomo, was even labeled as a joke by the police.

“I am really sorry to my Igbo brothers and sisters!” The Enugu-born DJ said.

“Truly. You are not the only tribe in the SW but how you’ve all been demonized is so heartbreaking

“APC is a shame Nigeria police shame, Nigeria is a shame. Shame… shame!
