There were 993 candidates running for governor in 28 states, as well as state houses of assembly elections, and the results are still coming in.

Parties such as the PDP, APC, SDP, Accord Party, Labour Party, ADC, NNPP, and others ran candidates for major seats in the election.

According to news reports, the Labour Party and the NNPP will undoubtedly generate an uproar, with many analysts anticipating that the parties will seize some states for themselves.

Yet, the APC and PDP, both of which claimed to have the structure and spread, worked hard to avoid such a scenario.

SANWO-OLU DEFEATS RHODES-VIVOUR, ADENIRAN IN LAGOS

Sanwo-Olu trounced his closest challenger, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who received 312,329 votes, and was followed by Olajide Adeniran of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 62,449 votes.

The state has a total of 7,060,195 registered voters, but the number of accredited voters for the poll was 1,182,620.

APC WINS SOKOTO GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION

The All Progressives Congress (APCAhmed )’s Aliyu has been named the winner of the Sokoto State Governorship election.

According to news reports, Aliyu won with a total of 453661 votes, defeating his nearest challenger Saidu Umar of the PDP, who received 404632 votes.

INUWA YAHAYA WINS GOMBE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

Professor Maimuna Waziri, the state collation officer and vice chancellor of federal university Gashua, declared Inuwa the winner, saying he received 342 821 votes to be re-elected as governor of the state.

According to Maimuna, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mohammed Barde, received 233,131 votes, while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) nominee, Khamisu Mailantarki, received 19, 861 votes.

Abiodun received 276 298 votes, defeating his nearest challenger, Oladipupo Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 262383 votes.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 273,424 votes, defeating his nearest competitors, Abdullah Yahman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 155,490 votes, and Hakeem Lawal of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who received 18,922 votes.
