Reno Omokri, a former presidential adviser, has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, are pleased with the petition filed by the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, against President-elect Bola-Tinubu.
According to news reports, Peter Obi, who finished third in the poll, filed his challenge at the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja.
Yunusa Tanko, the Chief Spokesman of the LP Presidential Campaign Council, announced this on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday.

He stated that the process of Obi recovering the mandate of the people has begun.
He wrote: “It is official the Labor Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja. The process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started”
However, in a Thursday Instagram post, Omokri stated that Obi is assisting Atiku in claiming his mandate at the tribunal.
Omokri stated that even if the LP flagbearer is successful in convincing the court that Tinubu rigged the poll, he will not be proclaimed the winner.
He wrote, “The thing is that even if Peter Obi can prove his claim that Tinubu did not get the most legal votes and did not fulfill the ¼ in 2/3rd states, the court will simply declare Atiku the winner.

“That is why we are very happy with Obi’s petition. It is like fetching water for us! The #NigerianElections2023 is not like Imo’s election. The INEC 3rd cannot become the court’s 1st. If Bola Tinubu is displaced by Obi’s petition, then Atiku is in place.”
