SDP Presidential Candidate, Adebayo Fires Atiku, Peter Obi For Going To Court

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has warned that people who have gone to court to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) victory of Bola Tinubu are setting themselves up for misery.

Remember that Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar filed a petition with the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja to contest the results.

They both claimed that the election was marred by several irregularities, including the non-qualification of the APC candidate, and that it was conducted in violation of the law.

The duo also claimed in their separate appeal that Tinubu failed to collect the majority of the valid votes cast in the election, as well as one-quarter of the lawful votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

In a tweet on Thursday, Adebayo said Obi and Atiku are disputing Tinubu’s victory to keep their supporters happy.

According to the SDP presidential candidate, some of the petitions were merely medicinal placebos for their supporters.

He tweeted, “As for presidential election petitions, blessed are those willing to learn facts and law with open minds when hearing starts. Those who see courts as a continuation of campaigns are setting selves up for heartbreak. Some petitions are mere therapeutic placebos for followers.
