Ohanaeze Asks Sanwo Olu To Provide Palliatives For Traders Affected By Election Violence

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a chieftain of the Igbo socio-political organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has requested Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to offer palliatives for Igbos attacked in Lagos State.

Following the victory of the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate Peter Obi in Lagos State, numerous Igbo-populated markets were set on fire, destroying commodities worth millions of dollars.

Isiguzoro, on the other hand, requested the governor to pay Igbos injured by the attacks.

“We support Sanwo-reelection Olu’s based on our consultation with APC governors in the Southeast and other Igbo leaders, and as such, we are using this opportunity to donate N100 million to all Igbos who lost their properties, lives, and were molested to pay their hospital bills; we will channel the money appropriately.”

“We still want to tell Sanwo-Olu to support Igbos who have lost family members, commodities, and shops. The Lagos State government should have palliative for them, and we are demanding compensation for them.

“He should repay the Igbos, we have picked up the ball by donating N100 million, but we expect that the Lagos State governor whose responsibility is to protect lives and properties must ensure that he helps the Igbos to douse the tension.”
