A magistrate court in Gidan Murtala, Kano State, has ordered the killing of a citizen’s male chicken (cockerel) for allegedly causing a disturbance in the area where he lived.

According to news reports, a neighbor, Yusuf Muhammad Ja’en, filed a complaint with the court, claiming that Isyaku Shu’aibu’s chicken deprived the neighborhood of their earned rest and was always a disturbance.

Ja’en claimed that the Cockerel screamed excessively loudly, preventing them from sleeping.
After hearing from all sides during a Tuesday hearing, Judge Halima Wali ordered Yusuf till Friday to kill the cockerel.
