Ned Nwoko, a senior member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claimed that the petition launched by Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi to challenge the election of Bola Tinubu is a fruitless endeavor.

According to Newsmen, Obi has submitted a petition to contest Tinubu’s victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the presidential election on February 25.

Third-place finisher Obi requested that Tinubu’s victory be overturned, alleging that the presidential election was marred by irregularities.

Peter Obi’s Election Petition Will Fail – Keyamo

Nwoko stated, “Obi’s petition filed against Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja might fail once the President-elect is sworn in on May 29,” in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

The senator-elect for Delta North claimed that it would be nearly difficult to prevent Tinubu from finishing his four-year term, adding that the LP’s inadequate analysis of the political system and exaggerated hopes were responsible for its defeat.

Nwoko argued that if the opposition had united, the governing party would have been severely defeated in the 2023 presidential election, and that the only way to free Nigeria from the APC regime is through an alliance between the two parties.

He said, “Once Tinubu is inaugurated as President, he takes charge of everything. He becomes the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces; he orders them and uses them as he wishes. He appoints new Chief Justice upon recommendation by the judicial council.

Ned Nwoko Asks PDP To Kick Wike Out of The Party

“So, you see, it is almost impossible to stop him from completing his four years tenure.

“Moving forward, the PDP and Labour Party have to come to terms and make the next election more strategic. The natural alliance between both parties is the only way to save Nigeria from this inauspicious government.

“It would have been a landslide victory for the opposition if the Labour Party and Peoples Democratic Party had worked together.”

Nwoko added that the LP and the “Obidients” were also to blame for Obi’s defeat in the presidential race, stating that they were too self-absorbed to allow for rational thought.
