Presidential Tribunal: Court Resumes Hearing On Atiku, APM’s Petitions Against Tinubu

As lawyers came at the Abuja location of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on Tuesday morning to resume hearing the arguments regarding the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections, there was trepidation in the air.

According to news sources, the pre-hearing of the Presidential Election Tribunal began on Monday with petitions being presented by Peter Obi, the flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), and Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), against Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tribunal Promises Atiku, Obi, Others Of Passionate, Objective Process

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) and PDP’s pre-hearing was moved to Tuesday, May 9, 2023, while the pre-hearing of Obi and his party was moved to Wednesday. This was decided by a panel of five judges, led by Justice Haruna Tsamman.

The panel is about to start hearing the petitions filed by Atiku and APM.

As of deadline, some attorneys and respondents to the lawsuit have shown up in the court for the day’s sessions.
