These findings emerged amid accusations that Emefiele had funded terrorism and engaged in corruption.

Due of the serious accusations against Emefiele, the Department of State Services (DSS) has previously tried to arrest and imprison him.

The DSS is worried as a result of the news of his study leave and possibly early departure from the country on May 29.

They worry that if Emefiele leaves before the new administration takes office, he might flee from punishment.
