The pre-hearing session of the Enugu State-based Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has been postponed till June 7 in order to continue.
Justice K.M. Akano, the tribunal’s chairman, made the announcement of the break at the conclusion of Friday’s session.
The tribunal is now hearing Mr. Chijioke Edoga’s suit against Peter Mbah of the PDP and INEC.

Edoga is requesting that the tribunal invalidate Mba for allegedly forging his NYSC certificate.
As the hearing resumed on Friday, the petitioner’s attorney, Mr. Alex Ejesieme, asserted that the FCT High Court lacked the authority to hear the case.
According to Ejesieme, the tribunal has the authority to handle the issue.
“The Electoral Act has given the tribunal the power to look into the matter of the NYSC forged certificate.
“The issue, which is being agitated in this matter, is so germane.
“So, I urge the Court to dismiss the third respondent’s submission,” he said.
Earlier, Mr. Alex Izinyon, Counsel for Mba, said that the Supreme Court had resolved the problem of forging NYSC certificates in the cases of Adeleke, Oyetola, and INEC in Osun.

Izinyon argued that the Supreme Court’s ruling in Osun backed their stance and urged the court to reject the petitioner’s argument.
Therefore, he requested that the court reject the petitioner’s prayer.
Mrs. A. J. Ofia, the PDP’s legal representative, had earlier asked the court to strike out all or parts of the petitioner’s reply.
