Presidential Tribunal: Peter Obi Tenders Additional 188 Exhibits Against Tinubu’s Election

The Labour Party (LP) candidate in the last election, Peter Gregory Obi, on Tuesday, tendered an additional 188 exhibits against the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the election winner in his bid to establish his allegations of malpractices in the conduct of the February 25 presidential election.

The exhibits, which primarily consisted of results sheets and reports used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the election, were tendered at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) and admitted as exhibits to be used in determining the legality or otherwise of Tinubu’s return as President.

Obi, through Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Peter Afoba, tendered forms EC40GPU and EC40G1 as well as reports prepared by the electoral commission following the election.

According to the breakdown, 45 EC40GPU forms were tendered in Niger State’s ten Local Government Areas, 23 in Osun’s seven Local Government Areas, 17 in Edo State’s three Local Government Areas, and 52 in Sokoto’s five Local Government Areas.

Obi also submitted 15 EC40G forms in eight Local Government Areas of Osun State, 12 EC40G1 forms in twelve Local Government Areas of Edo, 15 EC40G forms in four Local Government Areas of Sokoto, and 9 EC40G1 forms in two Local Government Areas of Sokoto.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate also submitted five reports on the conduct of the election in Niger State and eight in Edo to back up his charges of irregularities during the election.

Despite INEC, Tinubu, Kashim Shetima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) objecting to the evidence’ inclusion, the Presiding Justice of the Court, Haruna Simon Tsammani, admitted them as exhibits.

Obi also tendered INEC Results Viewing (IRev) reports in 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State, 20 in Ogun State, 16 in Ekiti State, 19 in Rivers State, and 25 in Akwa Ibom State during Tuesday’s proceedings.

Meanwhile, the Court has rescheduled the petition’s next hearing for June 14.
