Sit-at-home: Senate Asks FG To Extradite Simon Ekpa From Finland

The Senate has requested that the Federal Government approach the Finnish government in order to extradite Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Ekpa, the leader of the Auto Pilot wing of the secessionist group, has continued to order his adherents to enforce sit-ins in the Southeast region, hurting economic activity.

The sit-in, which is largely enforced on Mondays, has caused discontent in the southeast.

The Senate criticized the unrest during its plenary on Wednesday and ordered the government to ensure that Ekpa, a Finnish citizen, is returned to the country.
