NECO: Over 1.2m Candidates Register For 2023 SSCE

According to reports, over 1.2 million applicants have registered for the current 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), said this on Friday, August 4, in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, according to report.

1,205,888 individuals registered for the exams overall, according to Wushishi.

Speaking while observing the administration of the exam in several schools today, the academician observed that, of the total number of candidates, 601,074 are male and 584,814 are female.

Based on information gathered from around the nation, he expressed satisfaction with the overall manner in which the 2023 SSCE was conducted.

The 2023 SSCE, which will be finished next week, is the best organised in recent memory, according to the Registrar.

Prof. Wushishi revealed that various steps had been implemented to prevent examination fraud and added that these actions had begun to show promise.

The Registrar, who oversaw the test at the Airforce Military School, King and Queens Academy, and Emmanuel International College, all of which are located in Jos, was pleased with how the examination was handled in these institutions.

According to a statement from the council, Prof. Wushishi had previously observed how the 2023 SSCE was conducted in the states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi.
