UPDATE: Charly Boy Opens Up On His Personal Challenges

Veteran Nigerian artist Charles Oputa, well known by his stage as Charly Boy, has spoken out about facing several difficulties.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the musician said this on his Instagram page on Saturday in response to a video of the week’s third mainland bridge suicide attempt by Lagos socialite Farida Sobowale.

Speaking about his experience, Charly Boy disclosed that he had been duped out of millions of Naira and was also suffering from prostate cancer, which had already taken the lives of several of his friends.

Despite everything that has happened to him this year, he emphasised that he is still healing and maintaining a basic lifestyle.

The capacity to be genuine to oneself is one of the strongest elements of excellent mental health, according to Charly Boy.

He wrote: “Why would anyone want to kill themself? But suicide is Real, the most underreported phenomenon in Nigeria.

‘For all the pple wey help dis woman not to jump off the bridge, na only God fit bless una. Thank you.

“I have been going through a lot since dis year. I was defrauded in hundreds of millions. I had prostate cancer, which claimed the lives of more than a few friends of mine. In all of it all, am recovering and still keeping it SIMPLE, like my papa teach me.
