After Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, was sworn in and reinstated as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), former senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna Central responded.

Recall that on Monday, at a ceremony held in the dining hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu swore in Wike and 44 other individuals as ministers.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Wike promised to restore the FCT to its original vision upon taking government and has no intention of conducting a witch hunt.

He claimed that land owners who received Certificates of Occupancy but did not construct on their parcels would likewise lose their properties to make room for others who were prepared to do so.

When asked if his promised demolition will be used as retaliation against his rivals, Wike replied, “Say the truth, you don’t like those who step on toes. I’ll tread on some toes.

Wike stressed that he will consult with the herders to come up with a final solution before ending open grazing in the city.

Shehu Sani responded to the situation by asserting in a post on Twitter that Wike’s ability and competency to fulfil his responsibilities are beyond a shadow of a question.

However, it’s possible that the former governor may use his words and deeds to put President Tinubu and himself in political peril.

He tweeted: “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister to deliver is without doubt.

“The possibility of getting himself and the President into serious political trouble by his utterances or actions is also without doubt. He will have to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”
