Tribunal Takes Decision On Election Of Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu

The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which was in session on Tuesday in Umuahia, Abia State, affirmed Benjamin Kalu’s election victory as the House of Representatives Deputy Speaker.

In its decision, the tribunal’s three-person panel denied the case filed by Labour Party (LP) candidate Frank Chinasa to overturn Kalu’s election victory.

The petition from Chinasa was dismissed by the panel’s three judges for lack of merit in a unanimous decision that was read by the tribunal’s chairman, Justice Samson Gang.

reports Anaedoonline.ng Kalu sits in the lower chamber of the National Assembly on behalf of the federal constituency of Bende.
