The suspension of the party’s national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been referred to as a “Nollywood and Hollywood joke” by Buba Galadima, one of the party’s founding members and a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Kwankwaso and other party members were suspended on Tuesday over suspected “anti-party activities in various meetings” by a group of the party.
The group asserted that there was “material evidence” demonstrating that the party’s nominee for president in the election on February 25 had engaged in anti-party activities.

Galadima, who spoke on a Channels TV programme on Tuesday evening, claimed that the individuals who announced Kwankwaso’s suspension had already been dismissed from the NNPP.
Galadima emphasised that the party is still together and is not in any sort of crisis being peddled.
He said, “When I saw it on social media, I thought it was like a Nollywood or Hollywood joke.
“Now let me make a small correction, those that were expelled were Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam and Gabriel Agbor Major.
“All of them who were expelled were called to a disciplinary committee. They were drilled and they accepted their sins and it was on the basis of their acceptance that they were recommended to the Nation Working Committee for expulsion.”

Speaking on the alleged anti-party activities, Galadima explained that “as a politician, we can meet with anybody. He took permission from us.”
