The Soludo-led Anambra State Government has handed over the security architecture of Nnewi (Nnewi Central Vigilante) to Igwe Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu IV (OON).
This was revealed by the Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Anthony Collins Nwabunwanne when he joined the Nnewi Apex Socio-political organisation, Nzuko-Ora in the company of Igwe Nnewi, HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu IV (OON) during their monthly general meeting at the famous Nnewi Youth League Hall.
The monthly meeting was cut short immediately Igwe Nnewi and his entourage entered the meeting hall which brought a lot of excitement to the Apex group leaders and community delegates.

The Igwe Nnewi commended the Nzuko-Ora Nnewi led by Mr. Maduka Atueyi of their efforts in putting up a strong show during the Afia-olu festival and their continued efforts in bringing positive growth to the peaceful, successful town.
The commissioner of Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Anthony Collins Nwabunwanne during his speech commended the Igwe and the Nzuko-ora leadership for a successful Afia-olu and as well took out time to praise and adore personalities who has in one way or the other taken it upon themselves to bring security to the town and it’s environs.
The Commissioner, however, revealed that according to the law, that Igwe Nnewi is the Chief Security Officer while the Nnewi President-general is the secretary and hence should be in-charge of the Nnewi Security Architecture.

In his words; “The government of Anambra State led by the Governor, His excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo wish to commend and salute individuals who has through their means donated or supported the initiative of securing Anambra State in their different community either by donating Walkie-talkie, Vehicles and other items to the security team.
“By law, the government of Anambra State recognise Igwe Nnewi as the Chief Security Officer of Nnewi and the President-general as the Secretary. We don’t have two Nnewi Central Vigilante security outfit.
“There is ministry of homelands (AVG), we have SPAGs (Security Advisors office), then there’s my office (in charge of local government and community affairs) as far as security office is concerned, the traditional ruler of any community is the chief security officer of that community.”
However, the commissioner revealed the state government have the popular bank road to have gone for tender and will be approved in the next executive meeting. He also said the state government will be embarking on some capital projects and Nnewi is one of the town to receive such projects.

The former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and former Nnewi North Local Government, Hon. Chukwudi Orizu thanked the Commissioner and the State Governor in extention for his thoughtful resolution and promised that the Igwe and the town leaders involved will deliberate on it and find better way to position the Nnewi security Architecture.
He, However, made a special appeal to the commissioner to help beg the governor to declare state of emergency on Nnewi roads which are no longer motorable.
He also reminded the state government that Nnewi is the second after Onitsha in the area of Internal generated revenue of the state and hence should be given due dividends it deserves.
The former President of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Mr Benneth Ngonadi also seized the opportunity to remind the commissioner to help appeal to th governor to soften his heart on the issue of Nnewi Nkwo Triangle which has been abandoned and left in a sorry state.

Anthony Collins Nwabunwanne, The former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly and former Nnewi North Local Government, Hon. Chukwudi Orizu, Former President Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Mr. Benneth Ngonadi, The Secretary-general of Nzuko-ora, Mr. Echezona Anazodo.
