Cross River Governor To Spend N5 Billion To Renovate His Office

The Governor’s Office in Calabar will be renovated for a status appropriate N5 billion, according to Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Otu revealed this during a conversation with media and emphasised that the governor’s office need to serve as the state’s compass.

The governor promised to update all of the state liaison offices in Lagos, Abuja, and other locations to display the same signpost.

Otu added that the governor’s office he visited was not appropriate, and that restoring it to an appropriate quality may increase its worth and attract investors who would be ready to do business with the state.

The anticipated cost of the improvements, which range between N3 and N5 billion, will be done transparently, he added.

He said, “I will not stop to spend money to make the governor’s office very befitting. It ought to be the signpost of the state. I will do the same in all our liaison offices.

“It’s when you make your abode or office befitting that will add value and appeal to investors. Filthy environments and poor architectural outlooks can discourage.

“The renovations will be done with transparency. It is estimated that the costs of the renovations will be between N3 to N5 billion. But for now the contractors are working pro bono.”
