After the Kano governorship election tribunal ousted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, traders in major markets across Kano swiftly closed their shops and headed home. The tribunal ruled in favor of Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful governor of the state. Marketplaces such as Sabon Gari, Kantin Kwari, and Singer witnessed a suspension of trading activities.
